The Nerdies Finals.
Firstly, thank you all for your patience. It’s been a winded stretch this year, and thank goodness for it or I wouldn’t have been able to cope with the huge response we’ve had this year.

I’m very chuffed to see that last years winners Cow_grrrl & AndreVR are both in for the running again.
ChrisM and NickHuntDavis went all out for campaigning with their parents even voting for them. If that’s not nerdy I don’t know what is.
So as you can see this last & final round is voting by poll only. The campaign closes on Friday at 12 and we will then determine this years winners who stand a chance of winning some of the following:

I would like to know how Owen managed to solicit 80 odd votes in a matter of minutes, each time I refreshed the screen there were more votes for him.
Facebook, Twitter, Blogging, ect. result in a trickle effect, not an immediate effect.
Not cool as far as I’m concerned.
Maybe Owen would like to answer, I’ll try point him to your query, Chris.
Emailing lots of people – and having lots of people forward those emails – results in lots of votes, and quickly. Not exactly a mystery.
Making allegations of cheating based on nothing more than a hunch, in the absence of any real investigation, is not cool as far as I am concerned.
Just for everyone else’s records: I’ve investigated and Owen has used his internetty skillz to campaign and campaign well. With requests to his friends, and their friends, and their colleagues, he’s in the lead and [in my opinion] deservedly so.
But this shouldn’t discourage anyone else from reporting suspected cheatings.

For the record – I’ve known Owen for 15yrs and being in the legal industry for 11yrs, I can reputably vouch for Owen and state that he is the biggest saint out there, Chris. A True, Honourable Gentleman with only good intentions. Owen, if being a good person makes you a nerd, you’ve got my vote!
Owen is also the captain of the USS Dauntless. No Starfleet captain has ever been caught cheating in any nerdy competition in the history of the Federation. Any such hint or allegation is an insult to the entire crew. We shall meet in the canteen tonight to discuss a protest sit-in in the transporter room. We shall not be moved.
